Jim was awarded his B.S., Summa cum Laude by Penn State University and went on to earn his M.D. at Thomas Jefferson University in 1972. After a year's residency in Family Medicine at Wilmington Medical Center, Delaware, he joined the United States Air Force Medical Corps with service in Greece, emerging as Captain in 1975. Thereafter, he completed his Family Practice residency at the University of Rochester, New York. He was engaged in Family Practice in Picture Rocks, PA from 1977 to 1979. Since 1979 Dr. Redka has been a leadership member of Cornerstone Family Health. Dr. Redka was the founder of Lycoming County Hospice and is a member of the Christian Medical Society. He is past President of the Lycoming County Medical Society. Dr. Redka also teaches in the residency program at Susquehanna Health System Dr. Redka is married and has six children. He is a member and elder of Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church and enjoys singing in "Lighthouse" men's quartet at the church. He currently co-chairs the CARHA Task Force.
