Anne has been a member of the LCHIC Board since 2001 and the Director of Lycoming-Clinton Head Start, STEP, Inc., since 1982. She is responsible for leadership and administration of an array of community-based programs that benefit young children and their families. The programs, all offered to participants at no cost, include Head Start and PA Pre-K Counts, which help 3-5 year old children prepare for kindergarten and their families gain the skills they need to success; the Parent-Child Home Program, which takes early literacy into the homes of 2-3 year old children and their parents; and beginning in 2010, Early Head Start. Early Head Start promotes positive child development and healthy outcomes for infants, toddlers and pregnant women. Lycoming-Clinton Head Start’s programs, all under STEP, Inc., serve 750 Lycoming and Clinton County children and their families. Anne earned an M.Ed. from Temple University, where she was a member of the National Teacher Corps, and a B.A. in Psychology from Tufts University. Before joining STEP, Anne taught young children in inner city Philadelphia and in a rural British village school, directed a community-school education project in Keystone Central School District and organized a parent cooperative playgroup in Sugar Valley. She is a member of the PA Head Start Association Board of Directors and of many local and state interagency groups. Anne lives in Loganton with her husband, David.
