Public Policy and Representation
LCHIC works with the World Health Organization and its Certifying Centre Safe Communities Canada and Safe Communities America, the PA Department of Health, PA Department of Public Welfare, PA Department of Transportation for Safe Communities Task Force work, and the Governor's Administration with membership in the State Secretary's Advisory Health Board, and the PA Office of Rural Health to address health and safety issues. LCHIC serves you as an intermediary to local organizations for state, national and international information, and provides the network for organizations to share, collaborate and work together to address issues that will maximize quality of life in our Region.
Education
LCHIC has built a valuable network for all health and safety providers, organizations, agencies, education and government and serves as an information resource for regulations, policies, programs and administration and provides you with access to those experts in all categories of membership.
Information
LCHIC provides a WEALTH of data-rich reports as a result of county wide Lycoming oversample surveys that give us valuable behavioral, attitude and health habit information. Surveys like the Lycoming oversample of the PA Youth Survey that reach over 3,000 students every 2 years, the BRFSS Lycoming County oversample survey that reaches 1200 Lycoming adults asking personal health and behavior information, Safe Community and Safe Kids outreach with brochure and media distribution--- and HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTORY that lists over 550 Lycoming County programs, invaluable to organizations that use the listing for public hotline, access, research and help information. LCHIC provides education via outreach activities like Neighbor to Neighbor, Lycoming Fitness Challenge, the annual flu clinics, monthly LCHIC Task Force meetings --- all are networking opportunities, organization to organization, and organization to the public.
Networks
LCHIC facilitates networking between its members through task forces, committees, online education and public forums. Through the LCHIC Affiliate Membership program, LCHIC members receive special discounts on non profit management services like board leadership information, current nonprofit regulations, human resource policies, fiscal and accounting, board management and a host of other expert-driven modalities like webinars, podcasts, Ask an Expert, E-newsletter templates, IT consultation, and more.
