Established in 1994, the Lycoming County Health Improvement Coalition's (LCHIC) mission is based on the core value that all community leaders have a responsibility to empower the community for overall wellness. What makes this organization so successful? It represents over 50 organizations in our county, all working together to collectively reduce duplication, fill those gaps of need and improve our quality of life for children and their families. The Board consists of 40 Directors all enthusiastically supporting the work of our organization. The organizations that are represented are truly a crosssection of human services, government, religion, education and business in Lycoming County.
LCHIC is a Communities That Care (CTC) Site, involved in advancing the CTC process among its Board and other community representatives—all looking to improve quality of life in our community. LCHIC is also a recognized State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) Partner with the PA Department of Health. Both credentials give the Coalition significant mention and financial opportunities to meet needs that LCHIC has identified for Lycoming County.
